Deliver programs and services that enhance quality of life and promote community engagement, innovation, education, and agricultural development. The Bezanson Agricultural Society (BAS), established in 1981 through the merger of the Bezanson Hall Committee and the Curling Club, operates as a non-profit under the Alberta Agricultural Societies Act.
The communityโs original hall was built in 1923 and rebuilt as the Memorial Hall in 1949 after a fire. Named in honour of those who served in World Wars I and II, the Memorial Hall has long been a central gathering place. It was expanded in 1990 to include a dining area and commercial kitchen, renovated again in 2016, and further enhanced in 2018 with the addition of the 16,000-sq-ft Knelsen Centre. This expansion introduced a regulation-size gymnasium suitable for college-level sports, tournaments, weddings, concerts, memorials, fundraisers, and more.
The Bezanson Community Event Centre now features a spacious lobby for community activities, a Gymnasium and the Memorial Hall, accommodating up to 1000 guests and supporting meetings, fitness programs, and private events. Both spaces include fully equipped commercial kitchens.
Outdoor amenities include a gazebo, horse-riding arena, and ball diamond, with camping available for facility users.
From weddings and memorials to reunions, tournaments, and community gatherings, the Bezanson Community Event Centre provides versatile space and experienced support to bring every event to life.
BAS owns the Event Centre which is a hub of action, community initiatives and events and partners with community organizations.
The 4H Club and Parents & Tots program are housed in the Memorial Hall.
It is a rental facility for weddings, funerals, family reunions, meetings, fundraisers, fitness, recreational and educational programs and community events.
