Usona Agricultural Society
Ag Society Category: Region 3
- ProfileThe Usona Agricultural Society has a deep rooted history in Alberta. The original Usona curling rink was the first rural curling rink in Alberta to have artificial ice. Many generations of families have served as board members and sense of community is strong.
The building as it stands now hosts a three sheet curling rink and curling lounge during the winter months, and the building is busy in the summer hosting weddings, family reunions and various other functions.
The Agricultural Society runs a number of community events throughout the year including Farmer’s Day events, Agricultural Expos, Harvest Dance, Name That Tune Nights, Wine and Beer Tasting nights and Craft events. We also invite the local high school to bring their physical education students to come and learn the sport of curling, and provide them with all the necessary equipment that they need. The hall is definitely the heart of the Usona community and community members of all ages utilize the facility.
