For Tracy Winterbottom, agriculture isn’t just something she understands, it’s something she lives. Born and raised on a mixed cattle and grain farm near Myrnam, AB, she and her two sisters spent their youth baling hay, driving the combine, sorting cows and fixing fences. Today, she and her family continue to operate a grain farm near her childhood homestead — maintaining a century-old tradition that earned her family an Alberta Century Farm and Ranch Award.
Tracy brings that deep-rooted knowledge to her role on Servus Credit Union’s Ag & Agribusiness team where she’s spent 20 years helping producers secure financing for things like land, equipment and cattle herds.
“I know what it means to seed in hope and harvest in uncertainty,” she says. “There are good years and hard years, and that’s when your financial partner really matters.”
At Servus, Tracy is part of a team that brings full-circle banking to agribusiness members, providing personalized support through every stage of their business and every season of life. From herd financing to retirement savings to succession planning, every solution is grounded in a real understanding of the ups and downs of farming, and of what it takes to keep a farm running.
“Our members come to us with goals, and we help them create a path forward,” she says. “Whether it’s passing the farm to the next generation or diversifying their operations, we’re there to build the right financial strategies to make it possible.”
“This is more than a job, it’s my community.”
What sets Servus apart is its deep connection to the agricultural community and strong rural roots. Many Servus Ag Advisors and Relationship Managers come from farming families themselves, so they know how to navigate uncertainty with real-world solutions.
“We understand what it’s like when the rain doesn’t fall, when the hail does, or when markets shift overnight,” Tracy says. “And we’re always here to support you, with flexible, local, deeply personalized options and solutions.”
From the canola fields to the financial frontlines, Tracy is helping Alberta’s agricultural businesses grow stronger, because she’s part of the same story.
