- Profile
AgWellAB (Agricultural Well-Being in Alberta) is an initiative based out of the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus in Camrose, Alberta. We work with farmers, agricultural groups and organizations by turning research into practical, farm-informed tools and programs that support their mental health and well-being.
Our goals include: (1) strengthening the well-being and resilience of farmers and rural communities; (2) reducing stigma by creating everyday, agriculture-rooted conversations about stress, pressure, and support; (3) building partnerships across agriculture, healthcare, and community organizations; (4) supporting the next generation of farmers through education, research, and skill-building; and most importantly, ensuring farmer voices shape the programs and resources designed to support them.
The services we offer include: (1) Research and evaluation including on farm culture, stressors, and well-being; (2) Training and workshops (mental health literacy in agriculture, farm culture and stress, communuication, succession planning, etc); (3) Practical tools and resources on our website; (4) Community events for group learning, mixers, webinars with trusted experts.
