Alberta Professional Outfitters Society

The Alberta Professional Outfitters Society (APOS) represents 500 professional outfitters and nearly 1,600 hunting guides across Alberta. With roots in Alberta’s tourism industry dating back to the late 1800s, the outfitting industry brings visitors from around the world to experience our province’s wilderness.

APOS invests directly in Alberta’s communities and conservation through initiatives such as the Minister’s Special Licence Auction Grants, Community Investment Fund, Careers in Conservation Student Scholarship, and Wildlife Management Fund. These programs support local communities, encourage the next generation of conservation professionals, and contribute to wildlife management across the province. The outfitting industry contributes approximately $327 million to Alberta’s GDP, supporting jobs and rural economies throughout the province.
