Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies Honour Roll Nomination Form

The AAAS Board of Directors instituted a program in 1982 by which two (2) persons from all 6 regions can be honoured each year with Honorary Life Membership in the Association.

Honorary Life Membership

A person who is a member of an agricultural society and who has made valuable and noteworthy contributions to the development and advancement of agricultural societies in Alberta will be eligible to be awarded one of two Honorary Life Memberships in the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies. This will be an outstanding volunteer recognized for their dedication to local, regional and provincial levels of agriculture.

The chosen recipients will be honoured at the AAAS Convention in February. AAAS will provide 2 complimentary tickets to the dinner, all other tickets will need to be purchased in advance of the event. It is the nominating Ag Societies responsibility to try and get the recipient to the banquet.

Application Criteria

Attached is a nomination form consisting of three sections. Each section deals with the candidate’s contribution to their local agricultural society, the regional scene, and the community. The person(s) with the highest points will receive the award.

  • Nominees must have involvement with Alberta Ag Societies for at least 15 years.
  • Individuals have contributed a great deal of time and effort to Alberta Ag Societies on a volunteer and/or professional basis.
  • ​Contributed to both local and regional collaborative projects that increase the profile of Alberta Ag Societies.
  • Have Contributions to other community projects/ organizations.
  • Past Nominees who have not received this award will have their nominations kept on file and still be eligible to win the following year—( up to 3 years )
